Wasted Degrees is an Edmonton, Alberta based internet sketch comedy troupe founded by Travis Harder and Drew Moline. Travis and Drew first met in Junior High. When talking about the Rhinocerous Party in the summer of 2007, they had the idea to start a podcast. Thus was born the predecessor of Wasted Degrees: The Rhino Cast. The Rhino Cast was a Daily Show/The Onion style audio-only news satire podcast. After doing the first episode, they decided to move to a video format and cut the length down to thirty minutes. Due to restrictive and clashing university schedules, however, they had to put the show on hold. In January 2009, the idea of restarting The Rhino Cast was brought up. After a few hours of discussion and brain-storming, they decided to scrap the news satire idea and move on to sketch comedy, thus creating Wasted Degrees.
